A breezy morning in Foxford, some of the gusts are near Gale force. Its going to be a difficult day for anyone trying to cast a fly. The river peaked yesterday at 0.8m and is now falling, currently 0.73m at Ballylahan bridge. As expected it was a small dirty flood and from early in the day yesterday the water around Foxford was colouring up. There were no big reports of fish taken, a few here and a few there. There’s a good chance that as the fresh water reached Ballina yesterday evening fish will have ran on the high tide. We should see these up stream today. More rain forecast in the coming week so we should have water and fish for the next while. For today worm and spin will be the best methods.
