P.J with a nice brownie from Lough Cullen. It took a fan wing mayfly fished dry.

A dull enough start to the day in Foxford but it looks like we could be in for another bright day. Yesterday was as expected a tough one. Very little reported taken from the river in the early part of the day, not sure yet how the evening went. Anglers were reporting seeing fish.

We headed for the Loughs for the afternoon. We had some good sport to start on Lough Cullen, all on dry fly. We headed up into Lough Conn and apart from a few undersized trout and a couple of chances at better fish we saw very little, just to bright.

For today the river is at 0.53m at Ballylahan bridge. As long as the sun does not break through bubble and fly should be well worth a try on East mayo and Cloongee fisheries. Further downstream of Foxford prawn will be the best method.
