A nice morning in Foxford with a little bit of blue sky. As you can see from the video clip the river is in a big flood, 2.24m at Ballylahan bridge and brown. It is difficult to say when it will come back into order for fishing, more rain forecast for tonight and tomorrow. I was speaking to a Ballina local yesterday who told me they caught some very nice fresh fish in the 6 and 7lb region upstream of the town the previous evening. This flood should move some of these fish upstream out of the estuary, something to look forward to when levels drop a little.

21:10 : Was out for a walk along the river just now and there’s a few fish moving. It is cleaning out nicely and falling, now at 1.47m at Ballylahan bridge. No rain so far today so by morning it should be in reasonable order for worm and spinner.
