A wet morning in Foxford. Raining quite heavy at the moment. I’m not sure when it started, i know it was not raining at Midnight as I made a 20 mile dash to retrieve my fly rod which I managed to leave on the side of the road earlier!. I did get it back. Yesterday was quiet on the river. It turned into a very humid thundery day and not good for fishing. Today will be different, we have rain and a good breeze blowing. For anyone brave enough to face the weather conditions there should be a reward. Not sure how much rain we will get or whether it will be enough to rise water levels, time will tell. I will up date here later this evening. For now the river is at 0.34m at Ballylahan bridge and suitable for all methods.

17:00 Update : We have had a considerable amount of rain throughout the day and there’s still some very heavy downpours around. The river has started to rise and is now at 0.45m at Ballylahan bridge. At a guess i’m expecting it to be between 1 and 1.5m by morning. It will be coloured and will most likely not fish in the early part of the morning. All this is subject to the rain for the remainder of the evening.
