A few snaps from our Kayak expedition yesterday. There’s more to fishing than catching fish.

A foggy start to the day in Foxford. The forecast is for another hot day. This weather is certainly not ideal for Salmon angling. There are a few anglers who are persisting and some are been rewarded. I spoke to one man yesterday morning who had hooked four the previous evening on the bubble and fly in Cloongee while another man fishing there had two, so its not impossible. There’s lots of fish in the river and if you can be there when conditions are ok you have a chance. We took to the Ocean for a few hours on the Kayaks yesterday afternoon. It was good fun, we had several mackerel and I lost one decent sea trout. Its something we will do again. That’s the nice thing about periods like this, one can take the opportunity to try different methods and places knowing that they are not missing a great deal on the river. Get out and explore.
