A cloudy morning in Foxford but no rain. As expected the river rose quite a bit yesterday afternoon, peaking at 1.43m at Ballylahan bridge. It is now falling and at 1.16m. This is not ideal for fly anglers, though for anyone into spinning or worm fishing the next few days could be good. This morning the water will still be coloured and worm will be the best method, by afternoon it should have cleared out enough for spinning to work. There is no substantial rain forecast so conditions will improve over the remainder of the weekend. For anyone arriving to fish on Sunday, we have to close earlier than normal, the shop will be open from 7.30am to 09.30am, our apologies in advance.
