A little bit of cloud cover over Foxford this morning but again it looks like a hot day ahead. Most salmon anglers have abandoned the river at this point although we are still getting reports of fresh salmon taken. Early morning and late evening are the best times if you do want to give it a try. Fly, Bubble & fly and Prawn will be the best methods. IFI with their “Blunt Instrument” have once again upset many anglers and business owners by closing fishing on the waters they manage (manage is possibly not the correct word to use). These anglers have worked hard, saved money and dreamed of their fishing on the Moy and are left bitterly disappointed while the seals run riot in the Ridge pool and Cormorants are emptying Lough Conn. Local businesses, Tackle shops, Hotels, Guest houses, self catering, Shops, Visitors centres, Pubs, restaurants, Guides, car hire companies, airports all depend on these anglers during a short season. I hope the Warm water protocol group and the management of IFI are answerable when jobs start going!
