A hazy morning in Foxford with a bit of fog along the river. Yesterday turned into a scorcher and by lunchtime most anglers had taken a break until evening. A wise move in these conditions. Today will start off duller but there is a possibility of more sunshine later so again the early morning and late evening will be the best times to be out fishing. There’s still fresh fish arriving in the Foxford area daily and reports from Ballina and the Ridge pool are that there’s a good number of fish showing in the pool. One local angler did tell me that a large seal chasing them around the pool is part of the reason they are showing. It would be interesting if a government body with loads of money and time done a scientific survey to see if this causes stress to the Salmon. I’m no genius but I think it would, Anyway. For anyone heading to the river today, early morning and late evening will be the best times. Plenty of sunblock and Pat Guiry sells cool beer.
