“Panic stricken they realised that August was gone,it was September and the Last month of the Fishing season……”Yep it’s September. No point panicking just yet. Water levels are still very high and conditions are not ideal. The River has fallen a little over night, it is now at 2.33m at Ballylahan bridge. A mixed forecast for the week ahead but no major rain promised. Levels should continue to fall and fishing will improve. For anyone who does decide to try the river today my first word of advice is to be careful. It’s at winter levels and the banks are slippy, one could very easily get into a difficult situation. Worm will be the best method today and rather than using very big weights it may be better to fish without a float and try close to the bank.
