A mixed sky over Foxford this morning, it won’t be a bad day (for angling at least). The forecasts seem to be giving a band of heavy rain later tonight and into tomorrow morning. We may or may not get this rain as things are uncertain, Mett Eirenn describe it as “A mobile Atlantic regime dominates bringing mixed and changeable conditions”, that’s polite for this could go any buckin way. If we do get the rain it will be good for the weekend. Currently the river is creeping up day by day, now at 0.41m at Ballylahan bridge, I would like to see it reach the 1m mark to move fish. There were signs of fish running yesterday and fish were taken throughout the system from Ballina to Foxford. Its an improving situation and i’m optimistic for the days ahead. All methods will be worth a try.

Storm Amy arrived on schedule, it wasn’t the worst we have experienced and I would say it was as much a rain event as a
