A dull morning in Foxford and it looks like the nasty weather is not finished yet. The river is dropping again and is now at 1.02m at Ballylahan bridge. It is still very big downstream of the loughs and fishing in the Foxford area would be difficult. It’s a slow start to the 2026 season and I don’t think I have ever seen the river this deserted of anglers at this time of year. It’s not all caused by bad weather and high water, there’s a lot of bigger issues in the world at the moment that are having a knock on effect. Hopefully in the next few weeks things will settle down a little and we will be able to get out fishing.

The shop is open from 8am to 12 noon and 2pm to 6pm today.
