A wet morning with a fresh breeze in Foxford. Overnight we have had a considerable amount of rain, looking at my water catcher (a worm tub) i’m guessing we had 12mm+ . It was enough to raise water levels and by evening I would expect to see fresh water in the system. I don’t see this rise in levels impacting negatively on angling today, we will not see much of a rise before afternoon. This fresh water has come at a good time and with the Spring tide we should see an increase in numbers of Grilse entering the system over the next few days. For today, the river is at 0.5m at Ballylahan bridge and for the early part of the day it will be suitable for all methods, by lunch time we will see levels creeping up a little and for the afternoon it will be spinning and worm.
