A dark morning and still a few heavy showers around Foxford, it looks like it will brighten a little as they pass. The river rose into a large flood yesterday, 2m at Ballylahan bridge it was chocolate brown in Foxford yesterday evening. It is back down to 1.5m at Ballylahan this morning. It will hold a good level for some time and the colour will take a couple of days to clear. For anyone fishing today, upper Cloongee or East Mayo anglers waters will be the best bet and spin or worm the best methods. Looking ahead to the weekend, it looks like Saturday will be the most suitable for angling. We have more wind and rain heading our way from Sunday. We had a visit from our Rolla Spinner supplier “Thierry” who himself is a good angler. He has noticed the struggle anglers are having with water conditions and has tried to help by putting together a selection of baits in colours which are suited to high, dirty water (Fluorescent blades etc). Theses are a Limited edition and we have them on the counter, as one of the larger retail chains would say “when their gone they are definitely gone”
