A slightly duller morning in Foxford, the cloud is a welcome bonus to angling. If it stays like this it will not be a bad day on the river. Reasonable reports from fisheries downstream of Foxford yesterday and the prawn certainly seemed to be working. Further up stream its time to scale things down and smaller flies are now necessary, size 14 and lightly dressed. For anyone that wants to spin a Swinford spoon or a Rolla 8G are worth trying. The shop will be open from 8am to Noon today and will reopen at 8am on Tuesday morning.

Still breezy but the rain seems to have stopped, for at while at least. The river has peaked and started to drop, now at 1.88m
