A lovely fresh morning in Foxford. There is a cool breeze blowing and cloud in the sky. Anyone out fishing right now is in with a great chance of success. It looks like the very hot weather is at an end for a while and we will see things come back to normal for the next week. Already, following the thunder showers there is a hint of fresh water in the system. We will have more showers throughout today which will all help to freshen and cool things down. We will see an improvement in fishing in the coming days and hopefully the water cools enough for certain fisheries to re open. I am all for conservation and protection of our valuable resource but the current “Blunt Instrument” of the IFI warm water Protocol is not good. They need to seek more local input before making the decision to close fisheries like the Ridge Pool in peak season. They closed it last week and apart from an elevated water temperature they had No reason. Several factors were completely overlooked which further proves their inexperience and lack of real knowledge.
