A slightly damp morning in Foxford, just enough to wet the grass along the river bank and nothing more. Lots of Salmon splashing around the back of the town and not an angler to be seen. Over the past month fishing has been extremely difficult and anglers are fed up. It is not just salmon angling, trout had stopped taking as well. We are now into the last week of August and hopefully we will soon see a change and the season will go out on a high note. I have a feeling that we will start to notice a change in weather from next Tuesday onward. There’s a big Low pressure heading up the Atlantic and it looks set to sit of our west coast for a while. Lows like this don’t normally cross Ireland without dumping a drop of water on us. Its my gut instinct that summer is nearing an end and we will be back to our more normal wet and windy weather for the end of the season. I could be wrong, we shall have to wait and see. For today it looks promising for bubble and fly.

Please note: Due to a family commitment we will be closing the shop early tomorrow. We will open from 8am to 9am only, apologies in advance
