A dark and damp morning with a fresh breeze in Foxford. The river is coming back into nice condition, still a little high in Foxford but it has cleared out well, it is now at 0,86m at Ballylahan bridge. Overall there are very few anglers on the river. I spoke to two anglers who fished on the East Mayo stretch yesterday, both had no fish which is surprising for the conditions but I somehow feel that with a few more anglers out catches would increase. For today, spinning will be the best method but remember to adapt to the conditions. Using light spinners fished in the top few foot of the water is useless, heavy spinners fished slow and low is the way to go. If you are not touching the bottom occasionally you are not in the zone.  For anyone struggling to catch, we do have a few of Thierrys Special Rollas left on the counter, no guarantees but at least if you are using a proven bait it eliminates doubt. The forecast is for more rain tomorrow and into Monday which is something we do not need, I would make the best of today.
