A bright and sunny morning, the wind has settled to a breeze. The river is looking good, 0.7m at Ballylahan bridge and dropping well in Foxford, it is suitable for all methods. The forecast gives some showers for the west later this afternoon so I’m not sure what effect they will have, I don’t imagine it will be anything major. There was very little angling activity during the week, this will change for the weekend and we will see more anglers out. There is a good chance of success and I would expect to hear of the first fish of the season from one of the fisheries downstream of Foxford.
