A breezy morning in Foxford and we had some rain overnight. The river is already rising and is now at 1.84m at Ballylahan bridge. I would not be surprised to see it reach 2.5m by this evening. All this water is making salmon fishing very difficult, the near gale force winds are ruling out the loughs so overall its very very difficult at the moment. Hopefully that is the end of the rain for a while and after today we will see water levels settling. For anyone who is fishing today, the best chance of a  salmon on the Moy will be to head well downstream. The Canal stretch on Ballina salmon anglers waters could be worth a try.
