Wednesday 28/08/2024

An overcast morning in Foxford, the forecast is for heavy showers, isolated thunderstorms and sunny spells, that sounds like a mixed bag. The river is still high but falling. It peaked at 2,2m at Ballylahan bridge yesterday and is now at 1.5m. It was very dirty and will still be coloured this morning. Worm will be the best method for anyone heading out, by afternoon a spinner will be worth trying. With the current weather situation its difficult to predict how conditions will be for the remainder of the week. I certainly would not be advising anyone to travel for fishing at the moment, if you are in the area there will be windows of opportunity but any of those thunder showers that fall in the wrong place will have an effect on levels and the opportunities could be brief.
