An overcast and grey morning in Foxford. Some days start with a fish others with a bang on he head from a shelf in the bathroom. When I say I saw stars, trust me I saw stars. My first thought was “you wouldn’t have to hit a fish too many belts like that to kill it”. Anyway, on with the day and it looks like we will have a dull start and a brighter afternoon. Water levels are good, 0.46m at Ballylahan bridge and suitable for all methods. No major catches anywhere to report, a few fish here and there. This week will be a good one for anyone into Prawn fishing and I imagine catches will increase. By mid week the Azures high will be affecting our weather, prepare for early mornings and late evenings which has a tendency to lead to banging ones head on bathroom shelves… I did catch a nice trout last night.

A beautiful Brown Trout on a dry sedge last night, not the “Big Lad” but a good fish
