A dark morning in Foxford and it looks like we will get some more heavy showers. Very heavy localised showers yesterday made it hard to predict what would happen with the river today. To make yesterday evenings prediction I actually used up a phone a friend. We got it pretty right, we said it would be between 1m and 1.5m, it peaked at 1.3m, I owe him a days fishing. Starting to fall again this morning and now at 1.23m at Ballylahan bridge it is very brown. Last nights rain will still have to come into it so I would not be surprised to see it starting to rise again later . I would say washed out for the morning at least, the chances of a fish on the Moy today are small. The best chance would be to get well downstream where the dirt will not be so bad or fish one of the spate rivers like the Easkey. Depending on what rain falls for the rest of the day it should be coming back into order for tomorrow. I will up date later

13.30: River has peaked at Banada and will start to fall properly by this evening. Still a lot of colour in the water but this will clear out by tomorrow morning. Providing we don’t get more rain this evening fishing should be good tomorrow.

17.45: Some very heavy showers in Foxford for the last while. I would imagine they will have an effect on levels. Here’s a link to the gauge at Ballylahan bridge https://waterlevel.ie/0000034004/0001/day/
