A bright morning in Foxford and there’s an amber weather warning for heat! its a while since we saw one of those. Its nice but not great for Salmon angling. The river is stuffed with fish. Those fish are now getting to the uncomfortable stage as the water heats up. I live pretty close to the river and last night at about midnight I went outside, it was still and I could hear the salmon Splashing and jumping . Not a great sign i think. For today it looks like another very bright and hot day ahead, look for alternatives would be my advice. On the other hand there’s a challenge involved in taking a fish in conditions like these, its not impossible and fair play to anyone who can do it. The heat would just kill me. This is the west of Ireland, sunshine doesn’t last for too long and we will soon be back in action.
