A bright morning in Foxford and it looks like we have a few nice days ahead. Not ideal for salmon angling but it will warm things up a bit and bring on some fly hatches for trout fishing. Trout fishing on Lough Conn is already quite good and local anglers are reporting nice catches. The river is now at 0.74m at Ballylahan bridge and is in nice condition. The first salmon from the Rinnanney fishery was taken yesterday. Interestingly, this is earlier than last season as has been the case on all the fisheries so far. East Mayo anglers reported five fish taken for the week which is also up on last season, promising. For today, all methods are worth a try and with fish throughout the system all fisheries are also worth a try. For anyone wishing to try the fly, the later part of today on East Mayo Anglers is well worth thinking about.
