Better late than never, apologies. It’s a cloudy morning with a little bit of mist in Foxford. The river looks good and is now at 0.6m at Ballylahan bridge. I was away yesterday but from what I can gather there were very few anglers on the river and it looks the same today. Overall conditions appear good but as I discussed in one of the winter blogs there is an unseen element at play, fish are not taking. If it was just Salmon we could blame water levels or something like that but no, it is across the board from Salmon to Mackerel. We have been fishing in a few different location for trout in the evenings. Two weeks ago we were doing well and seeing lots of fish, for the past week, there is nothing. I get to speak to anglers fishing rivers, lakes and beaches all around the country and everyone is experiencing the same problem. Hopefully it will soon change and we get back to having a bit of sport, the season is moving on.
