A dull showery morning in Foxford. The heavy showers started yesterday afternoon and have continued over night. Unfortunately, these showers have already had an effect on water levels. The river is rising and is now at 1.1m at Ballylahan bridge, it has nearly peaked for now. For anyone making plans for the weekend, I would hold back for now. The forecast is for more rain throughout today and heavy showers with localised flooding tomorrow. There is nothing definite but if we do get more rain the river will certainly rise more and this is not good. For anyone fishing today, the best idea would be to head downstream, the Canal at Ballina Salmoin Anglers waters will produce a few fish, worm and spin will be the best methods.
