Monday 20th June

The River rose slightly overnight and has levelled off in the upper and mid moy, the rise was of only about 30cm and the water remained reasonably clear. Most anglers are seeing big numbers of Small Grillse. The week past has been the best week so far on the Moy, with over 300 fish being “Reported” from within 7 km of Foxford. Foxford Salmon Anglers had 128 salmon “In the Books” while East Mayo Waters accounted for just over 100, Cloongee, Foxford town Waters, Foxford Fishery, Gannons, Armstrongs, Byrnes and Coolcronin all had periods of good catches. The outlook for the coming week is good with fresh water in the River and the weather set to continue overcast for the coming days..
