A nasty dark and wet morning in Foxford. If I was wise I wouldn’t go fishing today, but there you have the evidence. I have the sandwiches made and am off to take part in a local competition on Lough Conn. Just listening to the rain does lead to questioning ones self.. Anyway. The river is now at 1.44m at Ballylahan bridge and there is a big flow through Foxford, Salmon fishing will be tough. The best methods will be worm and spin. The forecast is not good for the coming days so I don’t see the river settling until at least mid next week, we will have to wait and see. On the plus side, there is still half a month left in the season so still time to get a bit of fishing done before we put the salmon rods away. For anyone that is heading out today, I have a feeling we will meet at some point, most likely in a room with padded wall paper and doors without handles..
