The John Gallagher Memorial cup 2025

An overcast morning in Foxford, it could turn damp. I’m happy to report that Foxford Angling Club won the John Gallagher Cup on Lough Conn yesterday. Fishing was tough in good conditions, 24 anglers fished, Westport Anglers had 2 trout over the 33cm limit while F.A.C managed 5 over the 33cm limit. Other smaller trout were caught and overall everyone had a good day which was celebrated until the early hours of this morning…  The river is in nice condition and there’s fish about, still very few anglers trying their luck. The best methods over the past while have been Bubble and Fly and Prawn. So far it is not looking like a good day for Bubble and fly, the wind may freshen later which will help. The shop is open this morning from 8 am to Noon and will re open at 8am on Tuesday morning.
