Oh dear, what a beautiful morning…. the little bit of haze in the sky is burning off very quickly and it looks like a bright day ahead. Not ideal salmon fishing weather but we cant change that, it’s a matter of making the best of a bad situation. The best chance will be in the late afternoon and in some of the deeper parts of the river. All the fisheries downstream of Foxford are possibilities and there were salmon taken over the weekend . A few anglers who know the river well told me that there’s fish lying in Rinnanney. During the brighter part of the day, a beach for a sea trout or a dry fly for trout on one of the Loughs could be a good alternative. The forecast seems to be saying we have  a bright week ahead so I would plan for early morning and late evenings on the river. A good hat and plenty of sunblock.
