Thursday 15/08/2024

Another Thursday morningĀ  šŸ˜‚, it’s dark and misty in Foxford. It looks like it has been this way all night which could amount to a considerable drop of water that has landed in the catchment. I have a feeling the river will rise during the day. It is currently at 0.68m at Ballylahan bridge and for the next few hours will be suitable for all methods. Once it starts to rise I would expect to see more colour in the water and depending on how much it rises everything will change again. We will just have to wait and see what happens during the day. For now, spinning will be a good method to try and if you are planning to fish, I would recommend heading down stream and stay ahead of the fresh water. I will update this later in the day when I get an idea of whats happening.

@17.50 The river is rising fast now, it is at 1.1m at Ballylahan bridge. It will continue to rise for another while and should peak at about 1.4m. It will be coloured upstream of Foxford this evening but will still be clean below the town.Ā  By morning it will have started to drop, most likely it will only be suitable for worm fishing in the early part of the day.
