A little fresher in Foxford this morning with a nice breeze. It looks like another nice day ahead and water conditions will continue to improve. Still only a handful of anglers on the river but those that are out are catching fish. Spinning has been the best method recently. With high water levels from the Loughs down (Through Foxford and on to Ballina) spinning will continue to work up to the end of the season. Further upstream (Cloongee and East Mayo anglers waters) the bubble and fly will work. For anyone planning a last day on the river this weekend, I would aim for Saturday. We have a band of rain heading our way Friday night/Saturday morning. If it does come heavy it could easily knock the river out of action for Sunday.
