Saturday 04/04/2026 The calm before storm Dave

The calm before the storm, there’s not a puff of wind in Foxford this morning. It’s grey with widespread drizzle and not very warm. The river peaked at just over 1.4m at Ballylahan bridge yesterday and is now falling, 1.04m at the moment. There is a brief window of opportunity for anyone local before storm Dave hits. I think once it does arrive, it would be wiser Not to be along the river bank. The forecast is for heavy rain this afternoon which if it comes will raise levels again. We will have to wait and see what happens.

The shop is open from 8am to 6pm today (all day)
