A dull overcast morning in Foxford. There’s water appearing in the river and anglers are getting excited. Our phone was hot yesterday, anglers from all over the country, all over Europe actually, were checking inn to see what is happening. Its going to be a busy end to the season on the Moy. The river is up this morning, now at 1.32m at Ballylahan bridge. I would hold fire yet though, this is the first flood in ages and it will be a dirty one. There’s showers forecast for today and another heavy days rain promised for tomorrow so levels are going to be all over the place for the next few days. Once things start to settle down there are a lot of fish in the system and they will start to take again so we should have good sport up to the end of the season, plenty of time. For anyone who does want to fish today or tomorrow, worm and spin will be the best methods. We will keep you informed here.

In other News, said with a little grin 😁. The “Inland Fisheries Ireland Warm Water Protocol Scientific Working Group” (That’s some mouthful but apparently it exists) is going to be very busy because “Hey Ho” if the statements and press releases that are flying around are correct, IFI top brass are not just in warm water they are in “Hot water”. Interesting times ahead and to be honest I don’t think it should stop at calling for the resignation of a board, the Minister who has stood over all this nonsense needs to consider his position. Its a big pity that it has taken the breaking of the morale of decent hard working men and women and the loss of tens of thousands of fish to bring this to light. For those of you not up to speed on whats going on, the two links below have some interesting reading while we wait for angling to improve.

Links are not working and I have to go to work. Check out FISSTA page on Facebook
