Another nice morning in Foxford, it doesn’t take a lot to make us happy these days. The river is now at 1.48m at Ballylahan bridge, high but not impossible. Over the past few days we have had some reports of fish being taken. As I said its not impossible and its OK for locals or people with plenty of time on their hands to squeeze in an hour here or there when opportunity allows, but to advise people to travel to fish would not be right. There will be a window of opportunity today before we get more rain tomorrow and for anyone heading out, worm and spin will be the best methods. Riverfest, our local festival is on this weekend. It started last night with the “Candles to the sea” ceremony, always poignant but nice. Today there will be a lot of kids activities and music. For the anglers there is an angling competition and in the Moy hotel the two local clubs are coming together for fly tying, entomology and pint drinking. We will have our Fishing simulator there and providing we can figure out the technology it will be a bit of fun. Drop in from 2pm if you are about.
